Let's Understand Autism Together !!!
Alanya University hosted a meaningful event as part of the April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day. The seminar, titled “Let’s Understand Autism Together,” was organized in collaboration with the Disabled Student Unit, the Nursing Department, and the Patika Community, and took place in the Lecturer Şebnem Köseoğlu Conference Hall at the Central Campus.
The seminar addressed autism spectrum disorder from both scientific and social perspectives. As part of the event, Dr. Pelin Uymaz, a faculty member from the Alanya University Nursing Department, gave a comprehensive presentation to the participants. The presentation covered many aspects, from the neurobiological foundations of autism to the processes of individuals' participation in social life.
The event also highlighted the social challenges faced by individuals with autism and emphasized the responsibilities that society can undertake in this process. The seminar aimed to increase the participants' awareness of autism.
